The SOS Outreach program strives to meet the needs of individuals and adults on the streets and lodged in outlying motels in the region. Connections made through the outreach program are important first steps to building trust with adults and families in need.
Through this program we meet critical needs, increase awareness of resources and help individuals move toward stability and self-determination.
Families and adults in outlying motels in the Greater Saratoga region are visited several times weekly by the SOS Outreach Coordinator and volunteers. We provide critical supplies and connections to resources to assist them as needed.
The SOS Outreach Coordinator mobilizes daily to reach individuals who are street homeless. The Alfred Z. Solomon Mobile Outreach RV is parked in Congress Park each Monday, Wednesday and Friday and visits areas in Saratoga Springs where people who are homeless tend to gather. Clothing, food, shoes and personal care items are distributed to these individuals.
