Renovation and Expansion of Emergency Shelters and Supportive Housing Program Completed.

September 2025

Our Emergency Shelters have undergone a full transformation—renovated, expanded, and reimagined to provide greater comfort, dignity, and hope for our neighbors facing homelessness.

The expansion brings our total to 31 beds, and completely revitalizes every corner of the shelters—modern kitchens, refreshed bathrooms, upgraded laundry facilities, welcoming common areas, and improved bedrooms that feel more like home. Outside, a newly paved parking lot and peaceful sitting areas invite guests to enjoy the small gardens they’ve planted—a space that blooms with both color and pride.

What this means for our guests is compassionate care in a place that feels safe and supportive. Here, individuals have the stability and encouragement they need to focus on their goals—rebuilding their lives, finding housing, and achieving lasting self-sufficiency.

These incredible improvements were made possible thanks to the unwavering dedication of our community partners, funders, and supporters who helped bring these projects across the finish line. We are deeply grateful to the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) and its Homeless Housing Assistance Program (HHAP), the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), Saratoga National Bank and Trust, and Broadview Federal Credit Union for their capital support.

This is what community looks like—neighbors coming together to invest in dignity, safety, and opportunity. With your support, hope truly lives here—and together, we’re working to end homelessness one person at a time.

November 2024

During November the Ballston Ave location was a hive of activity. The team focused on finalizing details, including welcoming our property manager on site, setting up case managers’ offices, and assembling furniture as it arrived. During this time, our case managers worked diligently to get tenants ready to move in as well!

September 2024

We are thrilled to announce that our 9 new supportive housing units at our Ballston Ave location will be opening in November! These efficiency units are permanent and designed to provide a safe and comfortable living space for individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness and will benefit from added support to stay safely housed while working to address any underlying health conditions they may face.

As we put the final touches in place for the new residents, we’re pleased to share that kitchen cabinets have been installed, heating and cooling systems are operational, and furniture is on order! Each eligible tenant will receive an income-based rental subsidy, eliminating the financial barrier for those whose health conditions prevent livable wages.

Tenants will benefit from onsite services intended to provide health and housing stabilization. The program will be staffed 24 hours a day, including a case manager, housing stabilization specialist, and property manager. The facility also includes the Hospitality House, where residents can do laundry, access a fully equipped kitchen, and space for shared meals or resident-based activities.

The supportive housing program has been developed in collaboration with the NYS Office of Temporary Disability Assistance Homeless Housing Assistance Program, Broadview Federal Credit Union, The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, Arrow Bank, and The Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative program (ESSHI).

The opening of these units represents our commitment to fostering independence and improving the quality of life for those in need. We can’t wait to welcome our first residents and give you a tour when the property is finished.
