Volunteer Roles (Based on availability)
FRONT DESK & GUEST SUPPORT
Schedule varies based on availability.
Help answer phones, greet visitors, and help guests with mail, phone calls, and internet searches. Some light administrative tasks or housekeeping may be needed.
5-7 pm, 7 days/week
Serve meals to guests and help clean up.
4-8 pm, 7 days/week
- Conduct bag searches
- Check guests in
- Assist with job or apartment searches
- Keep reception and eating areas clean
- Support staff in connecting guests to resources and assisting with applications

State Mandated Screenings
New York State mandates that volunteers are screened through the SEL checklist for the protection of our clients.
1) Online trainings:
You will complete two online trainings independently: NYS Sexual Harrassment and Bloodborne Pathogens.
*If you’ve completed Sexual Harrassment training from an employer or other agency after January 1, 2022, you may submit a certificate of completion in lieu of completing our training.
2) Group trainings:
You will be invited to a group training
Sign Up for Shifts
Code Blue: You will receive a link to the volunteer calendar where you can sign up for shifts.
Walworth Street & Outreach: Stephanie will coordinate the schedule based on availability.
