Dear Friends of SOS,

While this past year has brought uncertainty to many of our lives, I owe you my gratitude for helping us provide safe shelter and housing to people experiencing homelessness.

I’m happy to report that our guests have remained COVID-free thanks to your support. Your contributions provide us with the ability to purchase supplies needed to keep the shelters clean and protected, while keeping guests safely distanced and moving towards their housing goals. Saratoga County leaders and Saratoga Hospital’s Community Health Center worked tirelessly to ensure we had swift access to vaccines this winter. As of today, 56 vaccines have been administered to guests, staff, and volunteers.

I’d be remiss, not to mention the SOS staff, who often dedicates more time to helping our neighbors than they spend with their own families. A few of those staff members who previously worked at SOS have now rejoined the team because helping people is their true passion. Our outreach team expanded recently to better serve the basic and long-term needs of people who are living unsheltered. I am so proud of this staff for their hard work. They are always the most important people in any room, the true heroes of SOS.

It has been my privilege to meet many of you over the past 7 months and discuss ways we can best help our neighbors in need. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time. I’d love to hear from you.

Gratefully,
Duane
