“People come from all walks of life. They need help while they work on daily living skills, find housing, or get back on their feet. We offer that support, and it makes a difference.”
Carrie Ann Myers brings a wealth of experience and a deeply personal understanding to her role at Shelters of Saratoga. With a degree in Human Services and Health & Wellness Coaching, specializing in culinary arts, Carrie Ann combines professional expertise with lived experience to create meaningful connections with the individuals she serves.
Before joining Shelters of Saratoga, Carrie Ann worked at the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center and Conifer Park, an Alcohol Treatment facility, as an alcohol case manager, supporting adults navigating complex challenges. Over 14 years working with adults, she developed a deep appreciation for resilience, strength, and personal transformation—qualities she now fosters daily with shelter guests.
A 32-year member of her recovery community, Carrie Ann understands firsthand the struggles of addiction, and the journey from hopelessness to stability. She explains, “Because I know what I know—the feelings you experience—I can relate to anxiety, depression, frustration, hopelessness. Someone else saying, ‘Hey, you’ve been through this too,’ goes a lot further than a book ever could.”
Carrie Ann also brings holistic wellness practices to her work, including meditation and Reiki, helping guests explore tools for self-care and emotional resilience. She sees her role as more than case management: “It’s not just a business here—it’s like a family. Guests feel comfortable talking to us because they know we genuinely care. Staff take time to listen, and that care shines through in our guests.”
Since joining the team in September, Carrie Ann has been instrumental in creating a welcoming, safe, and dignified environment for all guests.. Her presence exemplifies Shelters of Saratoga’s commitment to fostering meaningful, lasting impact in the community. Through her professional skills, personal insights, and compassionate approach, she ensures that every guest feels valued, understood, and empowered to move forward.
